Mariann Lawson and Leslie Long have been friends for years. They have watched each other raise families, weather life's many seasons, and throughout their lives, they both have worked to foster community and belonging for those around them.
London Mae Needlepoint Studio grew out of this work. Every part of the name means something. London is for Leslie's daughter. Mae honors Mariann's mother, both artists in their own right. Together, the names carry two generations, one honoring what came before and one pointing to what comes next. We are a place for teaching and making, and for the kind of gathering that turns strangers and customers into neighbors and friends.
Mariann has been involved in handwork for decades. The work has steadied and enriched her through everything. Leslie has spent her life making room for people, the kind of room where nobody sits alone for long.
We sell canvases, threads, fibers, and accessories. We teach handwork.
